Derek Hyde-Lay
Physiotherapist

Derek moved to Australia from Victoria, Canada to continue his physiotherapy journey. He has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree from the University of Melbourne. His love of sport and managing his own string of injuries led to a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, particularly lower limb pathologies.

Derek enjoys all things sport related and is passionate about combining his enjoyment of sport with his physiotherapy skillset. He is currently a physiotherapist with Power House Rugby Football Club and Scotch College Rugby.

Derek’s professional roles provide him with great exposure to a variety of injuries, allowing him to help in all stages of an injury; from acute diagnosis to injury prevention.

Outside of the clinic, Derek enjoys staying active playing basketball and golf, as well as exploring the great outdoors. As an avid sports fan, you can also find Derek frequently taking in many different codes, in particular the NFL and the Seattle Seahawks.
