Emma Stafford
Physiotherapist
She/Her
Emma completed a Bachelor of Applied Movement Science and a Master of Physiotherapy at Victoria University. Her passion for physiotherapy was shaped through her own experience as a high-level basketball athlete, competing at both junior and senior State Championship levels and navigating the challenges of injury and rehabilitation firsthand.
Emma enjoys helping people of all activity levels return to the activities they love, with a particular interest in working with athletes. She has special interests in AFL and basketball-related injuries, ankle injuries, hip pain, and bone health, and is passionate about guiding individuals from injury through to full recovery and performance.
Alongside her clinic work, Emma is currently a physiotherapist with the Coburg Lions Football Club (VFL) and works across UHS-VU and Uni Blacks in the VAFA. In these roles, she supports athletes throughout their rehabilitation journey, helping them recover from injury, optimise performance, and confidently return to sport.
Emma takes a personalised, evidence-based approach to treatment, combining targeted exercise rehabilitation, hands-on therapy, and education to help patients achieve their goals. She believes that understanding the cause of an injury is just as important as treating it, empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery.
Emma has undertaken further training in clinical Pilates, strength and conditioning, and the GLA:D® program for osteoarthritis management. This additional expertise allows her to tailor treatment plans to each individual, whether they are recovering from injury, managing a long-term condition, or striving to improve their physical performance.
Outside of the clinic, Emma enjoys staying active through basketball and strength training, spending time at the beach, and never misses an opportunity to cheer on the Geelong Cats.
